We have tried to cover as wide a range as possible, however, if you do have additional questions you are more than welcome to contact us, and we will answer your questions as fast as possible. The FAQ is updated frequently.

Warm edge is a less thermal conductional material, which replaces the standard aluminium spacer between the glass panes.

What´s it to you?

Warm edges causes less heatloss, and therefore also keeps dew and condensation on the internal glasspane to a minimum. This again causes savings to your heating bill.

The U-value describes how well the window isolates, and how much heat is lost through out the window.

What´s it to you?

The U-value is significant, because it is used for energy rapports, building permits and housetrades.  It is also an important comparative tool, when choosing a window supplier.

It is a process where the wood knots are removed, and the wood is jointed again.

What´s it to you?

You avoid visible knots and resin, ie discolouration of the surface treatment. It gives a more uniform surface, where bad quality wood is removed. Finger joints ensures nearly 100% heartwood, and a longer shelf life.

Building regulations require the use of safety glass in critical locations, which means that toughened or laminated glass should be used instead of standard floatglass.

What´s it to you?

You do not need to know the building regulations. We will advise you on how you meet the requirements for personal security and where safety glass is needed. It is a bit more expensive solution, but long term it is a good investment.

Wood from the inner part of the trunk (core), which by nature is impregnated the best way that is possible to achieve.

What´s it to you?

We carefully sort our wood to achieve an almost 100% nuclear share in our windows. That is our secret to as why our windows has such a longterm durability.

When the outdoor temperature is low, it may even by insulated glass cause dew or condensation, especially on the lower edge of the pane. When indoor air is cooled against the window, the glass can no longer retain moisture, and it may condense.

What´s it to you?

If you do not have double glazings in your house, you will always struggle with condensation on the windows. If your house has double glazing windows, then too much condensation may suggest that the indoor air is too humid. It is neither healthy for the house nor the people living there. Let in some fresh air a couple of times per day to minimize dew and condensation or establish efficient vents in the outer walls or windows.

Very highly insulated glazing may in special cases create condensation on the exterior side of the glass, due to minimal radiation of heat from inside the house.

What´s it to you?

You have some highly insulated windows. In other words, you save energy and money.

Top-hung windows have fixed butt hinges mounted on the top. Top-guided windows (which is the most common) slide down slightly at the top when the frame is opened.

What´s it to you?

The top-guided frame provides a good opportunity for natural ventilation when the frame descends upon opening. Air leaks out at the bottom, while fresh air enters at the top.

In accordance with building regulations it´s required to have ventilation in some specific rooms. It is not enough that a window can be opened, but there must be a ventilation valve. However, this ventilation can also be mounted in ex. brick walling.

What´s it to you?

The ventilation valves can secure ventilation, without opening any sashes. It also prevents burglary, when the sashes can remain closed. The valves may be mounted in the windows, but we recommend that they are installed in the outer wall or that a mechanical ventilation system is installed instead.

To ensure an escape route from the accommodation in relation to any fire, there are clear rules / requirements for the sash size.

What´s it to you?

Be aware that the window sashes/free opening have the required size. In order to meet the demands the window design might be amended. However, ask us, we know the requirements and can always assist.

Waterborne paint is built on an acrylic base and has, unlike oil-based paint, great adhesion in moist environment. Acrylic paint is vapour-permeable.

What´s it to you?

The vapour-permeable surface is your guarantee that the steam pressure from inside the house can pass through the timber; and that the humid air does not repel the coating/paint.
